The Principal Islamic Asset Management (Ireland) PLC Funds were established in 2012 as the first Malaysian based Undertaking for Collective Investment Trust (UCITS) and is the umbrella unit trust authorized in Dublin, Ireland.

Principal Islamic Asset Management Sdn Bhd is the Investment Manager.

Principal Islamic Asset Management (Ireland) PLC is the Manager of the FUNDS. Investment Management of the funds has been delegated to either Principal Global Investors or Principal Islamic Asset Management Sdn Bhd.

Islamic Global Responsible Equity Fund

The Islamic Global Responsible Equity Fund (“Fund”) is Principal Group’s first Shariah-compliant ESG fund which also complies with Article 8 of the European Union’s Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulations (“SFDR”). SFDR sets high regulatory standards to be met by sustainable and ESG funds domiciled in the European Union.

The Fund has a specific focus on promoting environmental and social characteristics, particularly on carbon risk reduction and exclusion of companies or issuers from consideration for investment where their revenue is significantly derived from involvement in producing tobacco or the gambling sector. Such social exclusion criteria are also in line with Shariah principles.

Islamic Global Multi-Asset Fund

The Islamic Global Multi-Asset Fund is part of the Principal Islamic Asset Management (Ireland) Plc range of Dublin-based Undertakings for Collective Investment in Transferable Securities (“UCITS”). All investments made by the Islamic Global Multi-Asset Fund will be in compliance with the Shariah Investment Guidelines. This UCITS Fund complies with the strict European regulatory standards that emphasize strong investor protection and robust risk management framework.

The Fund seek to provide a return through a combination of capital growth and income over the medium to long term by investing in a diversified portfolio of global Shariah-compliant instruments including equities and equity related securities, Shariah-compliant fixed income securities (Sukuk) and money market instruments. The Investment Manager will adopt a dynamic asset allocation strategy and has the flexibility to determine the allocation between these asset classes according to their views on prevailing market conditions. In implementing this dynamic asset allocation strategy, the Investment Manager will use (a) strategic asset allocation, and (b) tactical asset allocation, in selecting investments for the Fund.
