Izad Sallehuddin, Chief Executive Officer

Izad joined Principal Islamic Asset Management Sdn Bhd (“Principal Islamic”) on 3 July 2023. He was later appointed as the Chief Executive Officer and Non-Independent Executive Director of Principal Islamic on 11 September 2023. Izad has over 15 years of experience working in financial institutions, including bulge bracket investment banks, such as UBS and Citigroup focusing on equities. He also has experience in fund raising activities as well as managing and rehabilitating assets of government-linked companies. He was previously the Chief Executive Officer of Urusharta Jamaah Sdn Bhd and Chief Investment Officer of Penjana Kapital Sdn Bhd. Prior to joining Principal Islamic, Izad was the Chief Operations Officer of Omesti Berhad and an Independent Non-Executive Director of AmIslamic Funds Management Sdn Bhd, and an Investment Committee member of AmFunds Management Berhad and AmIslamic Funds Management Sdn Bhd.

Qualification:
Izad holds a BSc Economics (Hons) from the London School of Economics and Political Science (Chevening Scholar) and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Nottingham. He has also completed the Berkeley Executive Leadership Program at the Haas School of Business, University of California Berkeley. Izad is a holder of the Capital Markets Services Representative’s License for fund management (portfolio management).
